Giro d’Italia: Arnaud Demare claims victory on stage 10

Demare’s last stage victory came at the Tour de Suisse last June

France’s Arnaud Demare claimed his first victory of the year by triumphing in stage 10 at the Giro d’Italia.

Demare held off Italian national champion Elia Viviani and German Rudiger Selig in a reduced sprint after a crash brought down several riders.

Italian Valerio Conti maintained his one minute 50 seconds lead over Slovenia’s Primoz Roglic in the general classification.

Britain’s Simon Yates is 5mins 36secs back in 24th with Hugh Carthy 16th.
